Can rapid urine tests detect HHC?

The questions we are asked most often in connection with HHC are:

Is HHC detected by a urine test?
Do THC tests react positively to HHC?

If you Google the topic, you will find numerous anecdotes from people who were tested after HHC consumption - unfortunately the results are quite different. Some are positive, others negative, unfortunately a definitive answer cannot be found.

How do common THC urine tests actually work?

THC is usually detected in urine via the THC metabolites THC carboxylic acid and 11-hydroxy-THC. It is actually known that HHC is not metabolized in the body via these metabolites. Accordingly, rapid tests that test for THC should actually not be positive for HHC.

So why do some tests turn out positive?

In order to get to the bottom of the question, I think we first have to take a closer look at the forms in which HHC was consumed in the respective situations.
HHC is known to be available in various dosage forms. In addition to vapes and edibles, I think HHC flowers are the most popular because they are apparently most similar to real cannabis.
These HHC flowers are actually “THC free” CBD cannabis which is wetted with highly pure HHC distillate. It's easy to forget that even CBD cannabis, which is officially approved for sale in Germany, still contains small amounts of THC.

The law stipulates that such flowers must not exceed a THC level of 0.3%.
Although this value should not be enough to produce an intoxicating effect, this value is enough to make modern rapid urine tests positive, especially with frequent use.
So that could very well be the reason why some tests come back positive for THC.

The situation is similar with many HHC vapes. Here too, the law stipulates an upper limit of a maximum of 0.3% THC and most HHC vapes actually contain small residual amounts of THC.
By the way, this is one of the reasons for our relatively small range.
All of our vapes are 100% THC free and tested by independent laboratories.
Now the question arises as to whether THC tests also react positively to THC after consuming pure HHC vapes?
